As part of the International Cosmic Day 2017 on November 30, 29 students and 3 teachers at our institute were able to experience everyday life as astroparticle physicists. After reviewing the standard model and air shower experiments, the students were able to measure the angular distribution of atmospheric muons with self-built muon telescopes and archived data. The International Cosmic Day took place for the sixth time this year and at the same time offered over 100 groups in 20 countries the opportunity to participate in similar experiments
